Just the other day, I wondered why there wasn't a good enough plugin that could create child themes for me so I don't have to go through the hassle… and then I found this. It's exactly what I need and then some! WordPress needs to make this a part of their repertoire.
Help me a lot. Tweaked some options and my child theme created with no problems at all!
This plugin has all the bells and whistles, probably too many for most! But what makes it even more valuable is the extraordinary support! Timely and practical, with
Thanks a mil, Jason.
It must be part of wordpress core. Great.
This is a great plugin! After several failed attempts at creating a child theme from scratch based on Code X, YouTube and Stack Overflow I found this plugin. It worked perfectly creating the child theme. Once you find this plugin there is no need to look further!
I did have some issue directly related to the nature of the specific theme I am using, but when contacting Lilaea Media's support team. I received a very rapid response and incredible support! They went above and beyond my expectations and helped me resolve all of my issues in very short order. They even advised me that I was approaching a few things wrong and educated me to put me on the right path.
I was so happy with this plugin that I upgraded to the pro-version. Both the basic and pro-version make it very easy to find and safely edit/modify the elements. The Child Theme Configurator by Lilaea Media took my site from looking like a out of a box standard theme to one that looks like it was custom built for me. Kuddos to the development staff and the tremendous support at Lilaea Media.
This is either not intuitive or buggy.
What is it with the Property / Selector thing. Weird way of doing it to be honest. Why not just allow straight paste into the child .css file? Really bad interface.
I tested some CSS and it's now somehow been shoved in to my index.php file and can't be removed. It shows up in none of the .css files or within your plugin. I've having to login to my host to try and edit files directly. What a complete mess!
Also trying to re-generate the child theme doesn't fix the issue.
I tried to delete the child theme, but of course this is also completely impossible to work out how to do. Not mentioned in your help. Not mentioned on Google.
It's supposed to make life easier, however I would recommend just creating a child theme the old way. Far easier. How can it be easier to do it by hand!? Seriously needs a complete overhaul.
I could have logged in to WordPress support, posted in the forum then waited seven thousand years for a reply. Yet more hassle. Seriously just awful. Something that should add efficiency has added one problem after another.
Your plugin has caused me a lot of stress.
Child Theme Configurator 22.214.171.124 is very well thought out with a logical flow to the (too many to list here) useful features and time saving options. Very, very well done!
This plugin is a cracker! it makes fiddling with the files so easy but more importantly safe to do so, and its understandable for a novice like me.
The tutorials are great giving you all you need to know but should you come unstuck their support is second to none! I have used their support 3 times in the last 2 days, each and every time I've had a super quick response and my issues sorted straight away.
Jason, you are a legend!!!
Works like a charm, does exactly what it should and more.
Dude, I was almost in tears after trying for 2 hours to make a damn child theme on Filezilla. I did it once successfully but deleted it by accident and wasn't able to do it again after that. Idk why.
But your plugin made everything better in about 90 secs and while I'm sad I failed to do it myself...this plugin really is excellent and offers tons of useful features.
Thank you so much! <3
