Yes, I selected WordPress version 3.1.3, when a client contacted us to help handle his updates for him, he said he hasn't touched his site in over 4 years. I was expecting the worse, ton of Malware, and who knows what else.
I login to this ancient copy of WordPress still operating with 3.1.3 (the original install, May 2011) and if you can believe this, it was clean of all malware! It did have 200 spam comments waiting to be approved. But no bad code anywhere to be found.
I didn't write down what version of BulletProof was in stalled (thinking 44 or 45?)
Talk about a test of time. I had to give kudos to BulletProof.
All updates went really well from BulletProof 4X to 54 and WordPress 3.1.3 to 4.2.2 now, all is good.
I like the software but I maintain dozens of blogs and I am so over having to click on up to four "dismiss notice" links nagging me at the top of the interface after updates. Please pop up your notices on a single modal window like many other modern plugins which will allow me to close the notice and get on with my life :)
I also worked with other security plugins, and my choice is this. I like, that very simple, and has a very stable run. Does not require useless things like hide admin page etc.
The plugin does exactly what it is supposed to do and the guys from AITPro provide an awesome support, what is quite rare for a free plugin.

Has it all you need to protect your site and easy customize to fit needs of your site. I did not realize all the vulnerabilities a website could have from bad people.
On WordPress using suffusion theme, this plugin blocks resources that Google needed to test the site as mobile friendly. Site appears to be responsive on desktop (changing browser size), but not on mobile devices.
The best hands down.
