It is well worth the time to get over a bit of a learning curve to use this plugin for any WordPress website. Keep it up AITPro.
This the best plugin for security on WP
Having used BPS for more than 5 years without any problems and having tried other security plugins over the years, I have found nothing better than BPS free in the plugins. The free version interface is straight forward and easy to learn. Ed Alexander, the developer, knows his stuff around htaccess files. He keeps BPS up to date and his support is top notch too. IMO you won't go wrong with bullet proof security. It is the first plugin I install on a new site.
I am using this for years. Reliable, good support. Essential for WordPress security.
This plugin is quite sophisticated, so stay with it. Free version is easy pie. Pro is Excellent, so check that any new plugins play well with Bulletproof Security, if it doesn't consider not using that new plugin at all. If you must have it, go to BPS Support and GET HELP almost instantly. Have the new plugin author explain why it doesn't work with BPS as well...
A++ and it just keeps getting better and better and better.
Unlike some other security mods I've used, BPS does not bloat my database with hundreds of megabytes of log information. It also recently helped resolve an xmlrpc attack that was causing server instability. Overall it seems relatively easy to install and fairly easy to setup. Thanks!
We've had 3 WordPress sites hacked in the last 6 months, two of those repeatedly (stemming from the Slider Revolution vulnerability).
Without going into too much detail, we thought everything had been patched up -- we did internal server malware scans, external site malware scans, installed Wordfence free version (which did help in many ways), and manually inspected the accounts for suspicious and hidden files.
Then suddenly in the last 2 weeks (after all of these other things) we started getting reports that the server was "attacking/abusing" other networks/servers. Again tried everything -- more scans, etc. The VPS hosting company said these things are very difficult to track down after the fact, but suggested installing Bulletproof Security.
So we did this on the most suspect website as a trial. And guess what? The attacks stopped. It's been 48 hours with none, and we'd have multiple reports every day for two weeks before this.
We're now big fans -- for us, the combination of Wordfence and Bulletproof Security is a winning one. They both do slightly different things (with the exception of the login protection, and we're relying on Bulletproof for this), and do them really well. Maybe Wordfence isn't needed with Bulletproof -- not sure on that -- but better safe than sorry. :-)
2 thumbs way up -- and definitely looking at going pro.
Great and professional.
