No support for the WordPress Plugin Community?
By , for WP 4.4.2

The developer has posted in their WP Plugin Support forum that they won't offer support in the forum. They want all support to go to their support at their site, which is only user to user support... Dev to user support is premium only.

The developer wants the user base of the plugin community, but doesn't want to support the users from this community... Lots of monetization in this plugin. There isn't a free option to put a limit on the size each user can upload.

Great Plugin & FAST Customer Support
By ,

Our site is very complicated on the back end. Few hiccups and always receive immediate or within 24 hrs response by their support. They even created a profile on our site to see what I was babbling about.

Had an issue with this plug in and come to find out, it wasn't them. Even had a developer remove their plugin and ONLY use the one with the theme :-( Come to find out, the problem was the buddy press activity plus plugin. Deactivated it and now...users can post on the wall without issue.

Why more than one? Our theme's "media" doesn't support the features RT does. We want our users to have the best options and features and it to be easy to use.

Thank you RT and good to know when we get investors/VC/etc. we can have your company design the site as we envision it's future to be.

useful plugin and helpful support
By , for WP 4.1.1

I was a bit nervous of the support i'd get once i bought the pro version after reading previous reviews, but so far so good! The free version was fine, but i needed a few additional features so had to pay up. It's definitely on the expensive side for what you get, especially compared to some other amazingly complex plugins like Bullet Proof Security and s2member framework, and I'm a bit disappointed about the amount they've set for ongoing renewal of their product (only 50% discount). BUT, having said that, they've based their product on BuddyPress which seems to be a challenge and they are continuing to develop the features, so it should only get better.
Overall, worth it if you need this feature on your BP site. Thanks rtmedia!
ps: I should add that they've actually gone the extra mile to explain things in detail to me, when I was really confused! So i now have great confidence in their ongoing support of any issues I have with it - strongly recommended!

You need to modify
By , for WP 4.0

Plugin raw, not modified, which is why can't put 5 stars, only 4. Lame translation from English into Russian language, localization, fix is not possible.

Bad plugin
By , for WP 3.8.3

It does work... watch out for others screwing up wordpress behind your back. Most importantly, ask for help, if all else fails, try it on a new installation to ensure its not the plugin doing crazy things.

big fish small pond - does not play well with modern themes
By , for WP 3.8.1

This plugin is the best for allowing users to upload pictures and media, given that the other option (bp-media or bp-album or something like that) ceased updates long long ago.

I give major applause to the team who develops this plugin, as they are constantly working on updates for it, and have found ways to monetize premium addon features, so hopefully they will continue to update and improve this important piece of the buddypress puzzle.

The main problem with this plugin is that it completely fails with many themes. Currently the amount of themes that are well suited to use with buddypress is very small, and most of the recent buddypress compatible themes are bootstrap based or similar. Rtmedia will not display images on gallery pages with most of these modern themes.

This may change one day, but currently I am assuming that the rtmedia plugin uses some of the same naming conventions and or files that bootsrap based themes also use - and conflicts arise.

There are a few theme options that work with rtmedia, however those are very limited.

Sadly the choice as of today for buddypress users is to have a small theme selection and no good way for users to upload photos, or use rtmedia as the best option for uploading media, but only have a few theme options that will work with buddypress and rtmedia.

This is an issue for buddypress in general, and not particularly rtmedia's fault that buddypress after years of being released still lacks the basic functionality that other social media scripts have offered for years right out of the box without all the problems.

Just what I needed; almost perfect
By , for WP 3.5.1

It is fantastic, and I will absolutely change my vote to 5 stars when they add the ability to give a photo a title and description when you upload it, or at least have photos in the Activity stream update with titles and descriptions when added later. Right now, you upload a photo and it appears in your Activity with the file name, and it is unchangeable.
