This has royally ****ed up my BuddyPress/User installation.
For starters this plugin does not work as it should. When I deactivated it it has messed up my user roles so now no one can upload or edit any media.
It works on WP 4.1.1 & bp 2.2.1 , but the admin settings are displayed in a separate buddypress submenu and not the settings tab.
Nice plug-in and works great! Also seeing this screen shot from here, can you tell me which buddypress that put those orange background color boxes for the activity, forum, comment, etc?
I has been trying to look for a plug for that....
Please advice if possible,
Had to immediately deactivate.
Requires a small tweak of the CSS to position the warning message over an area of the screen not needed for data entry or navigation. I added this:
height:450px; /* height of header graphics area in theme */
overflow: auto; /* Allows scrolling of message in header */
I also use this with social login which makes login and registration easy but requires users to complete any required field including those created with xprofile plugin.
This works great for me in WP 3.9 with BP 2.0(?).
Super useful for situations like social login, where the user is not forced to supply any profile details that are normally required through the traditional registration process.
My suggestions would be:
1) An admin backend to configure the warning message. I find the default "banner" style very clumsy and overbearing, and the bg color isn't right for my site....will definitely be tweaking it, but I have to dig into the CSS. A simple admin interface with color picker, size settings, and the option to change wording on the message would make this downright awesome.
2) Make it obvious where the settings are (not) located. I know there aren't really any settings, but the page that says "there are no settings" is buried in the BP menu -- whereas the majority of plugins put their settings in the "Settings" menu. So I wasted a good bit of time hunting for settings, only to discover there weren't any. Maybe a message upon activation? or a link next to the name on the plugins page?
3) This would just be a major bonus for my use case: the option to force the "Name" field to contain a space, so the end user can't just leave their monolithic username as pushed from media. My users are expected to provide a full first/last name, and I'm ending up with all the social registrations having their username and "full name" match. Not quite what I was after! I'll be hunting for another solution, but it would have been great to find an all-in-one. :)
If 1 and 2 were done, this would be a 5 star app. Thanks!!
I had been looking for this for a while. It does the job as promised - even for existing members. Am yet to see what happens on a mobile device coz that's where most of my members come from
This plugins worked as expected, forcing the BuddyPress members to fill their profile before they can continue using their account. I coupled this plugin with a Facebook Connect plugin as they often skip the member process and jumps straight to a new member. With this plugin it was possible to let members rapidly signup via. a Facebook connect plugin and then force them to fill out their profile.
Ive run this plugin on 3 different versions of WP and BP amoung the lastests.
This is the only plugin to force buddypress profile completion
