After spending a couple of hours on this, it's apparent the Documentation is way outdated and it creates more confusion oh how to set this up.
The plug in is not as friendly for someone with no experience with something like this. The directions are somewhat vague. I was able to use it and for the most part this is great for me. My issue is with coupons.
Here is the EXACT wording on the website for what they provide:
COUPONS & VOUCHERS
Create coupon/voucher codes for your clients.
The value for coupons can be negative or positive, fixed or percent, once or by day/hour.
You can set date/time when the coupons can be used.
You can create unlimited number of coupons, to use with one or multiple calendars.
The issue is, you can only make one coupon code available to each calendar at a time. So if you have different promotions running for different events, they CANNOT be run at the same time. This makes analyzing what promotions are working best for your company very difficult.
It would be one thing if I was the first to bring this up, but this has been an issue going way back for several clients. The last one I looked at was over 1 year ago. Since it advertises unlimited coupons and DOES NOT say that you cannot have more than one code available on a calendar, then support really needs to get working on getting this corrected. In the meantime, more clarification should be added to your advertisement stating that you can set up as many coupon codes as you like, but you can only use one at a time. Because that makes complete and total sense.
If the coupon issue gets fixed, this review would go from 3 stars to 5 instantly.
After much searching I found this plugin that fit my needs. However, I can only give 3 stars due to the extremely poorly written documentation (provided via the plugin & Sabina's site) regarding making modifications to the colors, layout, verbiage, etc. AND the super long time it took her to actually answer my questions!
Also, I was disappointed to discover after I purchased it from her website that I could have bought it from Envato and that her "tech support" site was for Envato purchases only! (And, yes, I did ask her specifically about my being able to use her tech support site!) Per her instructions, I had to contact her via her website's contact form to get any tech support! She should allow those that purchase from her site to have login access to her tech support site so we can get the same level of care that she provides to those that purchase this plugin from Envato!
Once I got all of the modification instructions from her, I was able to make my desired color, layout, and text changes fairly easily. Too bad it took weeks for her to respond to each question, thus delaying the site from going Live by a couple of months!
The plugin is good but is impossible for an hotel, or B&B to work without the season ..
I cannot set a minimum stay in the high season ( 7 days ) and a minimum stay in the low season ( 3 days ).... this is vital for every business in the tourism ..
Hope they can sort this out quickly, otherwise we have a super plugin but is not usefull..!!
Actually quite a nice plugin (a real-estate agent would probably say: Great potential!) - There are still some "hickups" but if people would make the effort to LOOK they would figure it out and don't complain straight away. I still have some issues but not bad enough to contact support yet.
You are on the right way guys/girls...(I might even go Pro :-)
Nice and useful plugin but some important features are missing to use it for hotels reservation :
- No calendar copy : not possible to copy/paste in calendars or duplicate them
- Not enough available filters in search : I found a workaround to define max people in a room, but it is very tricky and does not work if we did not precise a period. I would help if we could filter by several users extras fields (for instance : lift, animals accepted, ...)
- No search bar available : would be fine to can split search and results (search widget ?)
- Colors scheme : default colors are not very visible, would be fine to can customize from backend
It is really a pity, because again your plugin is very useful, and I hope these features will come
For straight on bookings this plugin is ok.
There is no possibility to enter downpayments or depostits.
Also amounts in currencies are not shown correctly:
€ 150,20 is shown as €150,2 Pretty ugly :)
The calendar layout is great, the method of selecting times on the client-side is fantastic, and the application itself is very sleek; it's not something that seems to be in huge demand but it's wonderful that this plugin allows you set set the price of each individual time slot.
Unfortunately it's missing a few basic essentials; as far as I've been able to figure out you have to manually select the days that you are available, type in the hours on those days that you're available, set the default price (optional), and then submit those changes - you should be able to choose default opening and closing times, have the calendar default to showing those times as available, and be able to set up a pricing scheme that is applied by default to each day without having to manually price them.
Overall there isn't enough in the free version that makes me want to buy the pro version, and I haven't been able to see anything of the pro version in order to figure out if it would be useful for my needs without having to buy it - a test site that demonstrates the admin side of the pro version would be ideal.
It's fine for simple tasks, but it has a lot of annoyances when you dig deeper in the settings. Still the best one out there. And please get the Pro version, it's at least one version better than the free one.
I discovered this plugin on the wpbeginner website and thought it was the answer. Having played with it, I'm really impressed. Unfortunately, I get some strange display issues on the front-end where the calendar dates jump down a row when dates are selected.
It also seems to load unnecessary code on all pages on my site rather than only on the pages where the calendar is displayed. I've opened a ticket for this, so hopefully either I'm doing something wrong, or the developer will be able to address it.
