Update broke my site
By , for WP 3.8.1

The plug-in broke my site and would not allow me to access my dashboard. I eventually had to remove from my FTP file all together. Also, the developer has been completely unresponsive.

Causes Google Penalty
By , for WP 4.1.1

Just a word of caution to plugin users.
The plugin has a habit of blocking Googlebot and returns excessive errors in Webmaster Tools which resulted in my first page rank being completely removed and now the site no longer appears in SERPS.
For those who rely on Google rankings to generate revenue, this plugin could destroy any chance you have unless the developers come up with something that will not get in the way of crawlers.
PS, I allow the bots to crawl everything so it's not the Robots txt file but what iThemes writes to the htacess file.

Developers, you need to fix this or come up with something that remedies this problem because it damages websites in Google.

Locked out of my dashboard after every update.
By , for WP 3.8.1

Getting locked out of my Dashboard after every time I would update the plugin started getting really old. I am torn whether I will keep this update. If I do, I will likely never update it again.

Tired of this ALWAYS breaking my site.

I am running the latest version of WordPress with the default Twenty Fourteen theme - exactly - all standard stuff.

Latest update locked me out
By , for WP 3.8.1

I ended up deleting this plugin after getting the iTheme update. Got locked out of my site, couldn't access the login page. I had to change the plugin file name and delete the plugin.

Crash and Burn
By , for WP 3.8.1

After Better WP Security being bomb proof this was the last place I looked to solve my (MANY) troubles over the last couple days.

Deactivated>uninstalled.

Used to be a good plugin until iThemes took over.

They seem to have decided it would be a good idea to completely rewrite everything and release it without extensively testing it. Now they are on a cycle of almost daily updates trying to fix bugs. They may get it working sometime in the future. But for now stick to the older version.

makes BLUEHOST crash
By ,

Do not install this. I even talked to Bluehost support regarding this issue. It was causing my WordPress hosted on Bluehost to crash multiple times a day. This was causing my Bluehost server to throttle a whole lot, resulting in "jailig" my server in Bluehost temporarily.

DO NOT INSTALL if you have Bluehost. I'm not sure about other hosts.

This is the worst security plugin of all time
By , for WP 3.8.1

Do not use this plugin. I was locked out of my WP dashboard for two days until I figured out it had caused havoc with my .htaccess file. Once I replaced the file, I was finally able to get back in.

Way too much trouble.
By , for WP 3.8.1

updates tend to crash my site or lose all my events. no response from authors on how to fix.
