Out of the box, this plugin worked fine but the search page didn't quite fit with my theme. I disabled the "seamless integration" and started fiddling around with the options to get better results, hide featured images, and fix the search results display. That last was the trickiest and required a search of the support forum followed by some experimentation. Fortunately there's a custom CSS box in the configuration settings, so I kept playing until I got what I needed.
Just one caveat: at one point the engine got "stuck" somehow, probably because I was experimenting with the scope of the settings in rapid iterations. The good news is that there's a button in the Settings panel to "Delete Transients" and another to "Recreate Index". Glad to report that they work perfectly, and the engine went right back to working. But I'll be checking from time to time to make sure there aren't any future problems.
This plugin transformed the searches on my site from embarrassing and nearly useless, to powerful and stylish. I love it!
I haver a question though, why do I see action=fps in my popular search terms?
Is there any way to remove that one?
I really like this plugin, but is there a way to make the search results page look nicer with different templates?
Great plugin !
Just what I was looking for. Would have given it 5 stars if the plugin would highlight the search item when a page shown in the search results is opened.
It works! Developer responded promptly to support post. I'd rate it 5 stars if output formatting was nicer/easier.
