If you website contain articles that are over 1000 words, a simple on-page index at the top of the articles can drive visitors to read. Then, you should use it for building yours automatically. Thanks for help.
For beginners, I used this guy. to teach me how to use it as there are not specific enough instructions on the plugin page. View his "Creating a Table of Contents" section.
Great plugin. The best of the genre. I match it with jQuery Smooth Scroll for the only thing that it lacks.
Powerful plugin but easy to configure. It's accomplished just what I neede, especially with the available tag for placing in template files.
I wanted the flexibility to add jump links to sections of my postings on a case-by-case basis. This plugin does that as well as supports auto generation based on header tags to make it that much simpler!
I look forward to continuing the use of BAL!
Just what I needed to create "Content" links at the top of my pages which had lots of content divided into sections.
Automated a process which usually took me a long time to get right.
For those somewhat longer posts, Better Anchor Links is a great way to improve user experience and SEO. Thanks!
Despite the complexity of what this plug-in does, it's very easy to configure and use. The script does all the work of digging through your article, finding the headings, adding anchors, and displaying them neatly at the top of the article - all on the fly as the page loads. Very impressive.
I was able to quickly find the settings page and limit my links to just heading 1 and heading 2 as I wanted, and I was able to add the links to my sidebar with the included widget.
After adding the links to the sidebar, I wanted to remove them from the top of the article. The plug-in has no provision for doing that, but I was able to hide it with a minor stylesheet edit very easily.
Altogether I was up-and-running in about 5 minutes. 5 stars!
My only note for improvement is that the checkbox for switching from a bulleted list to an ordered list does not affect the output in the sidebar. But this was easy enough for me to modify in the code.
