Doesn't work for me. Crashed my website
It's was ok, But have some problem with some theme and hard for custom modify.
If you use bbPress as a single forum page, selecting it on the menu will highlight the blog page. There was no much response to users on the issue, and a developer finally posted what worked only for his site a year ago. I installed bbPress to use with GeneratePress, and had the same issue a year later. They never got around to fixing it, so I am hoping for a update as to whether it will be fixed. It is simple for use in conjunction with BuddyPress, but this is a basic oversight of a problem users shouldn't have to figure out for themselves.
Хлебные крошки из "wordpress seo by yoast".
п.с.: ладно уже с вёрсткой, ну вы хоть настройку цветов добавьте в админку, хотя бы чтоб hex вводить например, а лучше ajax реализуйте.
Проще движок форума другой в папку положить, а так страшно мелко и древне((
Make the search form on the forum was on every page of the forum. And it is only in the root of the forum, for you it does not matter?
For bread crumbs in wordpress theme (they are all the show) improve the show addresses. For example, while in the "profile" shows "home" in the breadcrumbs, and when the mouse pointer on the "themes" in the breadcrumbs refers to site.ru/forum-threads/ bypassing the label "forums" when the check-box "prefix forum" in the address bar at this point site.ru/forums/threads/.../
In all other places breadcrumbs display normally. Bread crumbs from "wordpress seo by yoast".
ps .: okay since the imposition, well you though setting colors add to the admin panel, at least to enter the hex for example, and better implement ajax.
Simply another forum engine put in a folder, and so terribly small and ancient ((
slow if u having a big site. instead use some other.
I like the plugin but it is not compatible with WPMU Coursepress. When activated it doesn't show the text of the topics. It shows the text from the Forum heading but not from the topics
The forum is nice and easy to set up. The problems come when trying to couple the bbPress (and/or BuddyPress) plugin with a membership plugin. As I have tried to do TWICE.
After research it seems that bbpress (and/or BuddyPress) do NOT play well with 'membership' or 's2 member'. I'm not sure whose responsible for the issues, but personally I think they should all get together and resolve the problems. Otherwise, having a membership site with a forum is extremely problematic because the administrators loose their access and instead of doing to the dashboard or being able to login in the first place, you are met with this message: "You do not have sufficient permission to access this page".
This forum plugin seems to be very complete and all, but I tried many times to install it, and despite it works well, it just slow down my website A LOT, I can't afford to use it if I sacrifice 10 sec...
I use bbpress since version 2, it perfectly integrate itself into buddypress/wordpress that's true.
But there's some crucial points for a production tool that are terrific with this plugin :
- updates are a mess, i just update to 2.2 version, the auto update don't worked, ok i paste new files.
And OMG every previous repertory are changed in the plugin, ok so i have to rewrite a lot of stuff and plugins dependencies myself. It tooked hours.
-performance for very large boards are really poors.
Because bbpress uses wordpress hooks, and not dedicated hooks (like user_roles for a board is a killing db engine) if you plan to build a very large board without a dedicated over powered server you'll need to hack the plugin yourself.
-moderation tools are really very very poors, as an example : "ban user" function and button for moderators don't exist.
Have you ever seen a forum without ban tools for spammers and undesired users? Don't search an answer, because it doesn't exist, every boards have this basic function.
- the doc of bbpress is so poor and messy, that your best option to learn and understand about this plugin is to open its files.
- and finally the crucial thing, surely the most important one : export/import forums are totally buggy.
If you plan to change your server, you'll have to mirror your old one, because if you don't your going to have hours of headache working on dbs and bbpress. If you plan to "backup" the board... Well good luck, you'll have to set up yourself admin tools in linux to backupd dbs and files.
So yes it's free, it's the best solution for a complete forums integration in wp/buddypress, but if you plan to use it for a big website, you'll have to struggle with this plugin for a long long developper nightmare. And you're not sure to beat the monster at the end ;)
