Useless without a restore function
By ,

Why why why are there so many backup plugins on worpress that do not have a restore function, I'd give it a rating of zero if I could, wasted too much time on this.

Obtrusive upsell banner spam with latest version
By , for WP 4.5.2

This plugin should be removed from the WordPress Repo for violating obtrusive upselling with a new promotional banner on non-plugin specific pages.

Wouldn't connect to dropbox for the file upload process
By ,

Keep getting the following error

ERROR: Dropbox API: (7) Failed to connect to api-content.dropbox.com port 443: Connection timed out

I've checked with my VPS host, port 443 is open and we can telnet to the dropbox api URL successfully, and dropbox authentication is confirmed (and working) but uploading just fails every time for dropbox

Chose to go with UpDraftPlus plugin instead since it's more reliable at the moment.

Real shame as I've been a big fan of BackWPUp until now.

Désolé, mauvaise manipulation, impossible de modification la note

By , for WP 4.1.1

A backup plugin which doesn't have a RESTORE OPTION?! What is the use of that..it's like having a car that does not go in reverse! It is useless..I've spent 20 minutes learning how to use this plugin, configuring it and creating a backup, only to realize I can't restore my site from created backup?? You're lucky I didn't delete my site before realizing that!

I agree with RickC4: if there were zero stars you would get zero.

Wot no Restore?
By , for WP 4.1.1

I was given a backup of a site made with this plugin and disappointed to find no restore option.

I searched the web and found loads of posts of people with the same problem.

Anyone who has done any kind of IT work will tell you a backup is USELESS without a rapid means to restore.

I have used BackupBuddy which is OK, albeit that it struggles with very large sites and it is a cinch to restore, it also makes it easy to restore to a dev sub domain

So now I have to rip the backwpup backup file apart, restore the database, hope that the standard WP_ prefix was used or else inspect the DB to figure out then go edit all the parts that refer to the old site domain.

Probably half a days work in that alone and only then if it goes smoothly.

If there were zero stars you would get zero.

I would not recommend anyone uses this plugin
