This plugin is clearly the best Flickr plugin out there, it does what we need, yeah it has a bug or two but for free thats fine. I have added a little extra CSS to the advanced settings to make it just right. Good work to the owner.
All sorts of issues. It ignores the option to sort by date. It tries to display Flickr photos that aren't there, resulting in a ton of "This photo is no longer available" errors. It doesn't respect the space it's in on my site, trying to expand beyond the edge of the div.
In short, a great idea but way too many issues.
I tried all of them, and this is the best Flickr plugin by far. It's easy to configure, the thumbnails appear instantly, and display very well. Support is excellent, too.
I wrote this plugin for my own to create a photo gallery out of my photos hosted on Flickr. It turned out pretty great and looks like lot of users like it as well.
- really easy to use
- friendly and well organized UI
- love the random order option
- the Swipebox touch enabled is great for portables (deal-breaker for me)
- easy to organize using Galleries / Photosets to filter what you want to show (deal-breaker for me)
- the Swipebox slideshow sometimes crops the pictures.
I would add:
- auto size
- option to show photo rate
- ability to rate photos
- ability to leave comment
- ability to like on FB while Slideshow
This plugin is very nice!
After searching and comparing available Flickr plug-ins for WordPress I have to say that this is by far the most useful.
But there is still some room for improvement which would be the possibility to set up galleries for more than just one Flickr account (I use four accounts for different kinds of photography). With the plugin as it is right now I can just configure one Flickr account.
Please add this to the plugin and I would even be willing to pay a fee for this improvement.
In the world of half-baked and complex plugins, this one is an island of stability and ease of use. I would suggest more presentation options. Thanks!
Works great--but could use some of the name/title stuff better (display gallery name or description options)
I love this plugin. I like to pull random images from Flickr, and this does it best. And it works, and it's flexible, and it allows me to have square images. Has worked consistently for the four+ years I've been using it.
Don't forget to contribute to the author. I did.
