Awesome Filterable Portfolio allows you to create a very modern and outstanding portfolio which filters instantly using jQuery animations.
I just tested this plugin for a whole day. Please do not use it.
This plugin has multiple issues.
First: the filter plugin overrides the original classes, so the animations on hover do not work nor the picture preview (there are already multiple threads on the support page).
Second: The filter plugin sets a static width to the container. So if you resize the page after filtering, the responsive design is broken.
Third: the floats in my example were totally out of order, so I had to set it up as inline-blocks, so it would look good
fourth: when clicking repeatedly on the All- filter button, the items move a little bit upwards and downwards, which is even visible in the tutorial video and destroys the professional feeling.
Also a main feature is missing: You can only create one portfolio.
Please do not use this plugin.
Cannot select the thumbnail image sizes so portfolio images come up HUGE - shame
We always have to applaud the efforts of developers, but this plugin is not quite ready for deployment, though it's close. Here's why:
The plugin generated 566 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.
instead of a <div>, so a long list of categories goes right off the page to the right. Used Chrome's dev tool to see how it all wraps nicely to the container if
is changed to <div>.
Finally, and this is not a criticism, it's useful to clarify what type of portfolio this plugin produces. It is an image portfolio because it is limited to images (with a bit of data about the image). Clicking on a portfolio item displays a larger image, but it doesn't display a separate portfolio item page with more images, a gallery, video, more detailed description, etc. The plugin could be modified so that "Project Link" says something like "Project Details", then link to a separate page on which you would have the project link and everything else.
I was excited to find this plugin, for free. As soon as I installed I received several php errors.
Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare(), called in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/awesome-filterable-portfolio/afp.php on line 610 and defined in /public_html/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 992

Upon viewing the portfolio page, it looked nothing like the example and the image is missing, though its on my server.
I am using this plugin for my web.
the items are displaying in page but clicking on category name the items are not changing.
Please can anyone solve this problem?
No utf support at all - also.. the miss use of categories with out a slug doesent enable website users who writes in hebrew / arabic, chinese etc to use this plugin...
good intentions bad design
This looks like it would be great, but after adding an Item or Category via "portfolio items" I am taken to my 404 page. Upon adding "[af-portfolio]" to a page, it simply adds a broken table to the top of the page it was added to.
These are probably simple fixes; however, after two weeks the developer has yet to give any response to inquiry.
