Autoptimize speeds up your website and helps you save bandwidth by aggregating and minimizing JS, CSS and HTML.
I'm not sure how to rate this plugin. It must be of use for a lot of people, according to the ratings. But in my case page loading is much slower and with some settings the sites breaks. I tried all kinds of settings (also the advanced ones), but the site never improved.
The last in a long series of plugins I've tried purporting to minify and combine JS, CSS, HTML. All have ended up breaking my sites in way or another.
I ended up with a better solution: WordFence cache + MaxCDN. That combination is ultra-easy to setup and provides the best speeds I've experienced, consistently less than 1 second for a 1.3 MB home page. I don't care if the PageSpeed score or the Pingdom performance grade isn't 90%; those benchmarks are simply suggestions to improve SPEED.
Speed is the big win and I can get that easily with the caching and CDN solution mentioned. Try it out. You'll need WordFence, CDN Linker, and an account at MaxCDN. Totally worth it in my opinion.
It's a fine plugin. It looks like it speeded up my site according to various speed tests. But Google Page Speed mobiles dropped from 70 to 56. And it says it doesn't minify Java script.
Increase Google Page Score but increases actual load time
