Automatically generate the Post Thumbnail (Featured Thumbnail) from the first image in post or any custom post type only if Post Thumbnail is not set
simple and useful, saves lots of time!
I link to all my images on Flickr. I use a client (Mars Edit) that doesn't have an easy way to set featured photos, and wouldn't be able to generate them from the flickr images anyway.
But I need featured images. Really. A lot.
I've been wanting this tool to exist for ... about a year now? Bummer it was so hard to find in the long list of plug-ins that purport to do this job but don't!
Thank you, so much, for building this. It just ... works. Wow.
This little plugin removes the need to manually set a featured image, by automatically selecting one (first picture of your post). Very handy when you're posting a lot and don't have much time to deal with the details.
Work perfectly on old post - generate thumbnails. The new ones - the same :)
It worked perfectly to generate thumbnails on old posts imported from blogger; they showed up nicely in the "related posts" section, for example.
Worked beautifully. No confusing settings.
I didn't think this did you old posts, but it does! It will auto-generate feature thumbs on publish, but there is a settings > auto gen thumbs menu option, which works very well.
(So ignore my previous review, I'm tired)
Worked great for over 1000 posts of various types imported from an old install of CMSMS.
