I am adding this plugin to my arsenal of website development plugins.
I had to transfer post and pages that were previously migrated from an old wordpress structure.
Many media files from the exported website were showing to be an item in the media library however were not in the file structure returning 404 errors which caused the import to be a mess!
I kept having timeout issues when importing the large XML file, I even split it into small 200k files without any luck. This plugin helped me isolate the attachment import process which allowed me to import the whole large XML export XML without attachments. I then imported a separate XML that only contained the attachments for the posts and pages with https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-attachment-export/.
This plugin ran in the background processing the attachment imports without any timeout issues!
Great plugin, please keep updating!
i have 800+ posts and 9000+ images, this plugin was right way for me
This saved me from quite a headache. Working with a custom post type containing nearly 1000 posts, all with a very large amount of custom field groups and fields for each, including image attachments that weren't properly importing with the WP Importer plugin. I ran this right after and it picked up all the image attachments from the .xml file and assigned them appropriately. Huge time saver, thanks!
Thank u brother, I've trying to import all the images. but can't. After use your plugin. I can import all the images. i am very happy. May Allah bless u
This, unlike the official WordPress Importer, actually works. If your images are hooped, this is what you need.
As a side note, I had to make use of the Search and Replace Addon to update some links etc. but this got my farther than anything else.
I have used this on several different sites and never encountered any problems. Thanks for the good work.
I struggled with a troublesome migration, and then found this gem. it would have saved me hours of banging my head against a wall. A much needed companion to the wordpress importer plugin.
i seldom give comment, nice work!
Using this plugin to migrate attachments worked like a charm. The only problem I saw, were some missing images due to the fact that upload was made by a user who is no longer assigned to the specific blog in a multisite.
