After reading the issues that some people have had with this plug-in, I proceeded very cautiously with the install. The first thing I did was to pull up 3 different browsers and logged into my cPanel, and the admin account on the 2 remaining browsers. I installed the plug-in and the first thing I did after activating the plug-in, was to make backups of the DB, .htaccess, and the wp-config files. I went into the cPanel and downloaded the backup files to my desktop.
I then slowly proceeded to enable all of the basic settings. After I did that, I logged out from my other browser and see if I could log in again. Everything worked fine.
I then went through each section of the plug-in enabling features that were important to me, such as protecting .htaccess and wp-config. Whether or not it was a basic or intermediate setting, after I set it, I went back to my other browser to make sure I could still log in. At this point I have not touched any advanced settings and I am sitting at a comfortable 175 out of a possible 470 achievable points. I will let the site run for a few weeks and then I will readdress some of the advanced settings that would make sense for me.
In case anyone is interested, I have an e-commerce site with WooCommerce and using the Divi Theme for the front end. The overall speed of the site is great right now and I feel much better that it is now protected by enhanced security features.
Prior to this I was using WordFence which I thought was great until it just stopped working for me. It stopped downloading the free access key, for a number of users. Support is still working on a fix from what I can see.
I am happy so far that I found this amazing plug-in for free!
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! This plugin is junk. I just wasted 6 hours of my life trying to get back into my site after getting this code over and over...
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare login_header() (previously declared in /home/swiftbus/public_html/sisteronabudget.com/wp-login.php:33) in /home/swiftbus/public_html/sisteronabudget.com/wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/other-includes/wp-security-rename-login-feature.php on line 205
WTF is that supposed to mean???
User friendly is a big fat lie. DELETE DELETE DELETE!!!
Work for just what i need, and when i need. I use only a little part of this, the strike login system. Very ok!
Good security plugin.
For Basic security Its Good
Amazing plugin! It is a must have if you want a secure wordpress
Best ever! "Import\export settings" - very good feature!
Sasuri login nahi karne deti active karne k baad
The initial setup turned out to be a fair experience. Apart from the plugin chocking on some Unix permissions (I had to make all permission changes manually, by SSH-ing on the server), I'm pleased. Can't wait to see how well it performs in production.
Well, forget about the kind words I just said. Locked me out of my login panel, and I find nothing I can do to regain access, except reinstalling everything... :-(
My sites are still on it's infant stages. I tried the other plugins for security, yet I find yours, easy to setup and understand. I tried the Maintenance feature of the plugin but gave me a problem. (Can't access my site) Not to worry though, I just avoid using that feature. Since it's easy to setup, I just erase the plugin and the backup it created (by going to the host's file manager) and reinstall it back. Thank you!
