I'm very happy with this plugin. Works fine - thank you!
I spent the requisite time it takes to apply effective security to my site (by actually reading the developer's instructions and FAQ's before doing anything) and I am really happy with the result. I spent a few hours setting it up, looking up anything I wasn't sure about, double checking industry recommendations on a couple of settings for my own peace of mind. In the end it was fairly painless and I feel like this plugin, coupled with Wordfence, gives me a really good chance against hackers and spammers. I made certain to not allow either plugin to replicate a service that the other already provides so that there aren't any conflicts.
Also, everyone says it yet it seems like so many people don't listen. Back up your stuff before messing with it. If you have a dBase and file set of your site then no matter what a plugin does, you can easily reset everything. It's common sense, but, yea.
I've done this stuff manually, and I've tried plugins to speed my hardening of WP installs. This one works great, is not too intrusive. I have it on many sites including complex buddypress sites without issue.
Have changed login name as suggested and can't login any more. Used 4 different ips with no luck, getting errors. Looked ok on webhost providers server, but misbehaved on my NAS. Had no probs with other similar plugins.
I need to delete this plugin and again I've to instal it to my WordPress. Though its a minor defect but sometime for a non developer prospective its create big problem
I installed this plugin today. I received two errors while trying to use this plugin. A "Fatal Error" while trying to back up the WordPress database and another on in the WHOIS Lookup.
I have searched and searched for a forum or other form of support. It seems as all the links on their page send you back to the same description/download page. I tried Google+ but could not find a way to post a question. In their support pages, there is not a forum for this plugin.
Other links send me to a "Tips & Tricks" page. I would never try to "Trick" my customers. Once at the "Tips & Tricks" there does not seem to be a way to ask a question.
The plugin looks great, wish I could use it. With no method to ask questions or learn from others, this plugin will be uninstalled.
This is a great plugin that pointed out and helped fix so many security issues with my website.
100 % recommended, my blog is more secure than ever thanks to this amazing plugin.
keep up the good job, and I'll donate also soon as possible.
The Whois Lookup for this version works whereas it did not work for the previous version I had installed. One suggestion: make a "Block IP Address" button available to block the IP address after using the Whois Lookup feature directly from that page that would add it to the IP blacklist.
This is an excellent plug-in and I have used it with great success to prevent malicious attacks. It is not 100% foolproof but nothing is.
Works perfect : )
