The themes are mess-up and nothing seems to work properly.
- Horrendous support, even for paid add-ons (I understand limited support for the free plugin, but for a paid add on, i expect a certain level of support. At least a reply would be nice.)
- Updates constantly break features.
- Needlessly complex code structure.
- Tremendously resource intensive. We have two sites on dedicated servers that have run the time.ly calendar and their load times are absolute garbage with the plugin activated.
Bottom line, if it wasn't for the fact that this is pretty much the only game in town when it comes to decent looking event calendar plugins for wordpress, I'd have jumped ship a long time ago.
If anybody has a better suggestion, please let me know. I'd love to ditch this one for something better.
It's not bad, but not worth the ridiculous amount of trouble you have to go through to get anything done, really. They like to complicate things instead of keeping it all simple and easy.
Shitty plugin. DO NOT USE, you will be sorry.
Sure, looks nice, plenty of cool features, that's why I really tried to make do with it for months and months, putting up with its nonsensical versioning system, its concurrent versions which try to update one another, its random breaking of the plugin page. I wanted to love it. But now it makes my website horribly slow, even when using half of the features. Now that's enough. Pay for a premium plugin if you have to and be done with it, but do not use this one, it will drive you crazy.
I really would like to use this calendar, but unfortunately it seems that there a lot of compatibility issues.
First, there are confusingly two free versions, one ("lite") from the wordpress standard repository (install within wordpress backend), then there is a "standard" version from their website. Updating was a big hassle and only after several attempts (it took hours), I managed to get a fully functional install.
But then again, the seemingly working installation broke again: As soon you view the web page with a browser, where you are not logged in as a backend user (admin in this case), the calendar page is totally blank. Ok, I went to their forum, you have to manually insert php-code somewhere, but no success at first attempt... Okay, then I found another php code snippet to insert, this time with success.
It looks like the whole thing is quite unstable. Too bad!
developers from time.ly not too much can help on the issue by now
I like this calendar and have it installed on a couple of client sites. But, the current version is not compatible with WP3.8.1. I also found a curious bug with it last week: when an event is created for one of the last few days of a long month (beyond 4 weeks), the plug-in places it in the first week of the month. I tried to contact support and their site was not working correctly. None of these things are good signs, and I'll be looking for a replacement plug-in.
All in one events Calendar has seen it's fare share of bugs. Despite this, the plugin actually has a lot of excellent features in functionality. The problem is that you cannot trust the plugin. I've had it take down several sites with various updates that seem rushed and riddled with bugs.
I've decided to throw in the towel with this plugin. To fill the void Modern Tribe's The Events Calendar has performed very well for me.
As the title suggests I used to love this calendar, it fitted my site perfectly. It is probably the best looking calendar out there. Easy to use etc.
Unfortunately for Timely wordpress has updated several times over the last 6 months and it has not kept up with all the changes. Now it constantly crashes my site and I have had enough.
I really would LOVE to love this plugin.
All I wanted was a way to display one of my icloud calendars to the web. Sorry, but I don't like company rivalry screwing up my life. Apple and Google have done that. Google quit the sync program and Apple can't seem to understand that people have lives outside Apple.
Anyway, the ics link doesn't import. It says no events found.
Google to All in One worked.
I tried to sync icloud calendar to google calendar, and got a txt crawler error.
I tried to sync icloud calendar to yahoo calendar, and it worked perfectly.
So I synced yahoo with google and my icloud events were missing. Like they won't allow a sync of a sync.
I synced yahoo with all in one and the same problem. I see directly placed yahoo and google events, but not the icloud calendar events.
I tried changing the webcal to https and it didn't work either.
I love the look and feel of this plugin. But if it won't work with icloud, then it's not a good option for me.
I don't understand the problem either.
Other calendars, which I don't like, can do this just fine.
Localendar works fine
AMR ical works fine
Calpress works okay except the times are off by 8 hours, like it doesn't parse the time zone properly.
Come on all in one! Get icloud calendar feed to work and you'll have a great plugin!
