Just what I was looking for

Thank you for this plugin, it does just what I was looking for!

Amazing plugin, amazing author!

This plugin brings some amazing functionality by auto generating menus for page sidebars. It's incredible how powerful this plugin is and it's author is nothing short of brilliant! Well coded and so useful!

very nice!

Nice job including ability for upgrade-proof custom.css. Very smart plugin!

Did exactly what I needed

I love that I just added it to a sidebar, I used Display Widgets to choose where it should display and boom, I was basically done. I also LOVE that you ask whether to apply plugin styles or not. I can't imagine the default styles being all that useful, I'd much prefer my theme to style it, which is exactly what I was able to do. Really happy with this. The markup is perfectly logical, clear, and consistent.

Here's some screenshots of it working on a site I'm currently developing.

Surprised at how easy this was to set up
By , for WP 3.8.1

Does the job well. Super easy to configure. Thanks!

P.S. When "include parent page" option is checked, the children don't show up. Not sure if it's a theme-related glitch. The plugin does what I need otherwise.

Works well, but needs better styling

This is a great little plugin that works as advertised, however, it needs improved styling. The styling out of the box is just awkward. Takes a few adjustments (additions to style.css) to make it look pretty.

Sems to be useful
By , for WP 3.6.1

Version 4.5.0 Needs some modifications:
===
Number of parents to display __
("0" to hide; "100" or "all" displays all)
Number of levels of child pages to display:

  • Current __ (maximum)
  • Parent 1 __
  • Parent 2 __ (grand parent)
  • Parent 3 __ (grand-grand parent)
  • Other grand-grand parents displays without children
  • include only _____ (blank or if not exists to include all)
  • exclude _____

========
Now the "number of children to display" starts from highest parent, but not from current item.
"Show parent without children" doesn't work.

Very Cool

I use the plugin with the following css code:

.advanced-sidebar-menu li {
list-style-type:disc;
}
.advanced-sidebar-menu li.page_item a,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu li.page_item a,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu .grandchild-sidebar-menu li.page_item a,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu .grandchild-sidebar-menu .children li.page_item a {
color:#add8e6; //link color
}
.advanced-sidebar-menu li.current_page_item a,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu li.current_page_item a,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu .grandchild-sidebar-menu li.current_page_item a,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu .grandchild-sidebar-menu .children li.current_page_item a,
.advanced-sidebar-menu li.page_item a:hover,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu li.page_item a:hover,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu .grandchild-sidebar-menu li.page_item a:hover,
.advanced-sidebar-menu .child-sidebar-menu .grandchild-sidebar-menu .children li.page_item a:hover {
color:#fac800; //active and hover color
}

It runs very well as a sidebar-context-menu.

Does the job nicely

Worked well.

Usefull plugin

ADVANCED SIDEBAR MENU plugin should be by default in WordPress. It brings an obvious and necessary option which is hard to find.
Author replies quickly and is willing to solve issue
