Great plugin, with a little bug
By , for WP 4.1

This plugin is almost perfect and covers anything that might be done with an excerpt, with any flexibility as to formatting or length, complete sentences included. In the settings is an option to remove shortcuts from the excerpt display. Regrettably it does not seem to work anymore for each shortcode since the latest (WP and plugin) update. This will hopefully be fixed soon. :-)

Edit: Some shortcodes are in fact removed, but not jQuery slideshows.

Solid and fast

We were using another excerpting plugin on a development site. But as we got close to launch, running a performance profiler revealed that the excerpting was taking a fair bit of time (~a second) to execute. So we did a search and landed on this, whose execution speed barely registers in our particular server configuration.

Sometimes Working Sometimes Not
By , for WP 3.9.1

Don't know why sometimes not working but sometimes working pretty fine.

using this and its perfect

I really like.

Good plugin, could do with a fixin...
By , for WP 3.7

Does its job, and pretty well. Only downside is you can't customize the link to view the full content, with shortcodes or html - it makes the link point to "/#".

PLugin survives new WordPress updates
By , for WP 3.6.1

This is a real discovery, because it allows me to keep HTML formatting in my excerpt.

I am so delighted with the results.

Great work, saved me a lot of coding

One thing that's a bit odd is that the "read more" textarea lets me write in hebrew, it also correctly saves the input, but next time I enter the Advanced Excerpt settings page, it's all messed up with bad unicode or something, and if I save it without re-inputing hebrew into it - it also shows the bad unicode where "read more" button shows on my website.

Not a real problem, though I thought you should know this.
