Very strange bug indeed!!
By , for WP 4.2.2

I had a very strange bug that took me weeks to figure out! A very strange one in deed!

After I made the update to the 4.2.2, the Visual editor wasn't working any longer. The page for writing a new entry was being loaded with the Visual editor but the it would force to HTML editor on the end of the page load.

I tried everything and in the end, when all hope was gone, all the evidence pointed out to that the problem was the Visual Composer plugin. The only thing was, that the Visual Composer (4.5) was building the whole website, so I could not deactivate it! Besides, everything was working just fine! It just seemed that I would have to start everything all over from the 0 when I suddenly, almost by accident, stumble across this: http://support.advancedcustomfields.com/forums/topic/visual-composer-plugin-conflict/

So, the bug is fixed if one upgrades to the paid version. If not, we just have to live with a website with bugs? That doesn't seem to be good marketing at all! Already uninstalled ACF and an upgrade to the paid version is not even on the map. Bye bye!

Terrible
By , for WP 4.1.1

Many problems:

1: Unhelpful and lack of documentation, or if there is any its useless.

2: Lack of support, or rather any reply is the author telling you to go to this page of documentation (see reason 1).

3: The support forum is just as bad (see option 1 and 2).

4: No replies from their email support and if there is see option 2!

It doesnt even have ReCaptcha, or a field to allow a front end user to manually set the category/tag.

I wouldn't advise buying pro. theyre clearly only after the money.

Horrendous Support... Actually, it's non-existent Support.
By , for WP 4.0

Worked OK for an admin, however it hides from Authors of posts, which to me is useless - asked for help, waited a long time, never received, in fact their support forums says if it has been read, my support never even got acknowledged.

The plugin has such amazing potential for me, just a shame :(

No support on how to get it to work
By , for WP 3.9.1

This plugin looked great,

but it doesn't tell you what to do after you install the plugin. You can add fields to pages or posts, I got that far, but after that I was clueless what to do next. Like someone said before, the support/documentation is a maze with bits and pieces of instructions and there is no clear path to follow to get this plugin to work.

Guess I'll move on to something else, because there is no response on the support forum either.

No walk through instructions??
By , for WP 3.8.1

I'm told this is very good and it looks like it might be what I need - if there were any decent basic instructions anywhere.

The point of a plugin is that it makes life easy - the documentation is just a maze of bits & pieces that seem to be in no particular order & all over the place - even the section entitled 'basics' told me nothing. Couldn't even find any info on how the user gets to edit the page should I manage to find out how to use this.

Gave up.

"Activation Code" ... ?
By , for WP 3.4.2

Seemed like a nice and simple plugin. Paying $26 for a repeatable field is not nice, however.

If you don't have the $26 to unlock the repeatable field, take a look at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-content-type-manager/.
