Lets you edit the WordPress admin menu. You can re-order, hide or rename menus, add custom menus and more.
I had low expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. It gives you as much control as programming your own layout. I was able to hide a lot of advanced and unecessary menus for my clients, which should reduce clutter and give them a better experience.
I was also able to take all the random settings menus that every plugin seems to have and stick them all into the same "Advanced" menu. Very handy.
There is a GUI for selecting from the WordPress.org dashicon library too, lovely!
There is a pro version as well, but I found the basic version has all of the functionality you will probably need.
exactly what I was looking for
This would be a 5-star review - HOWEVER - when you purchase a licence for Admin Menu Editor Pro you're only given access to plugin upgrades for 1 year. Then you must pay to renew the license again. I will go back to the free version or find something else I only have to pay for ONCE.
Collected tone of functions.php tweaks to change all label names, placement, etc..but at the end i allways come back to this plugin. Why botther and lose time, install and arrange admin panel as you wish.
Realmente o plugin resolveu um dos meus maiores problemas aqui...
No problems at all.
I created my own role (called Super Admin) and I want only Super Admin roles onwards can view the specific menu but if I selected it, it would only show Super Admin, not onwards (including me cannot see).
I wonder what happens if I put all menu to Super Admin role (including this plugin's settings), I would have permanently lost full control of this site.
The best plugin for organization.
While there are a few features that lack in the free version, it does a nice job of sorting items and hiding some of WordPress's items. The ability to change the icons is also very nice.
One thing that it can't do (and I didn't see the information for the pro version) is remove menu items created by themes, such as custom post types (those I end up removing through functions).
could stand to have a little more of a guide / tooltips / a little bit of a learning curve, but it is awesome for pairing down all the extra menus and settings and options that you may not need on an actual live stable site.
