AddThis provides the best sharing tools to help you make your website smarter.
We recently moved from some basic hard-coded sharing buttons in our theme files to Addthis Pro. Certainly I like all of the different options Addthis pro offers, but the plugin doesn't work anywhere near as well as it should.
The #1 issue I've come across is that the plugin lets you check a box on pages and posts to determine whether or not the sharing buttons should show up on that page/post.
Unfortunately, it appears that many of our posts publish with that option unchecked, even though I know our authors are not touching it. That checkbox should be on by default and ONLY turned off in rare circumstances in which we need to keep the page sharing-button-free.
Seriously Addthis, you guys can do better. We're a paying customer and expect you to use the revenue from our subscription and the money you receive from others to ensure that your product is of the highest quality. Please clean up the issues I and others are experiencing and I'll stick with you. Unfortunately, if we keep experiencing these issues and the quality of your plugin doesn't appear to improve in the coming months, we'll have to consider other options. For now, I am going to have to review all newly published posts to see if the buttons are showing up, and if not, I'll have to turn them on manually. I don't want to have to keep doing this.
I have installed AddThis on my website and it works fine, however, when I go to my blog page, only one post shows. Turns out that AddThis hinders other posts from showing up.
My overall rating:
Functionality - ★★★★
Integration - ★
Usability - ★★★
Total - ★★★
O plugin é bom mas falta um pouco mais de flexibilidade.
It is working, except that the wrong buttons show up in the posts..
The plugin works great but there is hardly any information on setting it up. What isn't obvious is that it requires a AddThis account. Otherwise, it will not work at all. However, it is worth the account. You can customize / track the share bar activity using there website. Have tried a couple social plugins so far - none of them offer such a service.
It actually takes much time to load. Other than that, this is a good plugin.
I would like to see a greater choice of buttons, I'm having to find button code from the main website so I can use preferred buttons, and entering that into the custom button box.
Really like the filter for selectively allowing the buttons to display on certain category, tag, archives pages and individual posts and pages. Would be really neat to be able to mix up top and bottom of page displaying within the plugin settings.
I need this plugin to support custom post types desperately. The biggest thing is adding the AddThis meta box for removing AddThis from these custom posts. For instance, using My Content Management to create a custom post type there is no way to remove the AddThis from posts created through a MCM custom post type.
