Works ok, though terrible when reinstalling
By ,

It works ok, though it's terrible when you want to reinstall as it keeps its data in the database. I had to manually get rid of the records myself before I could make it work again.

Support was unable to help: they replied to my request after 9 days only to ask me to use this plugin (huh? I'm already using it...?).

Okay

Pros: very simple and easy to use.
Cons: not much finesse, is there? Just a plain social media share. Not fun to use, no design options. Just okay.

slow response. few choices

It takes very long time for the icons to show up. Settings are very limited

Some bugs on 4.4.2 and confusing admin
By , for WP 4.4.2

It's more difficult than it should be to get it working right. I resolved my issue (hiding the sidebar sharing tool on specific pages) with help from support, but had to opt in to manage the AddThis tools from the AddThis website, rather than on WP as I'd hoped to do for the sake of simplicity. Still confused about why my "ID" is not my username when logging in to AddThis. This could be more clear from a usability perspective. Now it's working though...

Simple

Clean appearance, a snap to install. Only problem is you cannot turn it off for certain pages like you can do for post. This is a major problem for one of my sites so I had to remove it.
For my other site where I want everything shared it was a perfect plug-in

Not too bad

The plugin works as promised, but can affect site performance a bit.

Great... if you don't use shortcodes
By , for WP 4.3.1

The plugin works great, except if you use a shortcode somewhere on your WP page. This seems to be a chronic problem for the developer, who claims it's other plugins that conflict with AddThis.

If you plan to use the AddThis in a widget, and the page has another shortcode, the AddThis widget disappears - no icons. There doesn't seem to be a fix for this.

Awesome work Bt Addthis Welcomebar isn't working.

Likes and shares from Facebook not working anymore
By , for WP 4.3

I was very happy with this plugin until recently when I updated to the latest version and likes and shares for Facebook are not being counted anymore. That's really unfair given that my most recent posts have been shared and liked crazily on Facebook and it is not showing on my blog posts. Is there any kind of problem? How can I solve this issue?

OK but room for significant improvements
By , for WP 4.1

We recently moved from some basic hard-coded sharing buttons in our theme files to Addthis Pro. Certainly I like all of the different options Addthis pro offers, but the plugin doesn't work anywhere near as well as it should.

The #1 issue I've come across is that the plugin lets you check a box on pages and posts to determine whether or not the sharing buttons should show up on that page/post.

Unfortunately, it appears that many of our posts publish with that option unchecked, even though I know our authors are not touching it. That checkbox should be on by default and ONLY turned off in rare circumstances in which we need to keep the page sharing-button-free.

Seriously Addthis, you guys can do better. We're a paying customer and expect you to use the revenue from our subscription and the money you receive from others to ensure that your product is of the highest quality. Please clean up the issues I and others are experiencing and I'll stick with you. Unfortunately, if we keep experiencing these issues and the quality of your plugin doesn't appear to improve in the coming months, we'll have to consider other options. For now, I am going to have to review all newly published posts to see if the buttons are showing up, and if not, I'll have to turn them on manually. I don't want to have to keep doing this.
