Meh
By , for WP 4.1

Free version is fairly middling compared to other offerings, and Pro price of $12/mo or $99/yr is laughable. Not ha-ha funny.

how about NO
By ,

BIG NO ...same problem as others

Nice, but breaks the theme template
By , for WP 4.0.1

I notice many are saying similar, and also suggesting to hold onto your older version. If you are not lucky enough to have the older version, you can get it here... https://github.com/wp-plugins/addthis/tree/3.5.10 by clicking the 'Download ZIP' button on the right :)

Not easy to set up & need addthis account
By , for WP 4.0

the addthis plugin has changed considerably since I first started using it, and in my opinion has gone downhill. It is not easy to set up, there are no options in wordpress to set up the plugin it has to be done via the associated addthis account. The addthis website is confusing and lacks easy to use/find documentation.
You can no longer choose to show the share buttons on wordpress pages which renders it pretty useless unless you want to manually add the code. If you're going to have to do that, what's the point of the plugin? That's if you can find the place on the website that offers the code to add to the pages.... not a good experience over all.
It's a shame addthis is such a difficult service to use as it offers so much.

Bad Update
By , for WP 4.0

updated the plugin and now i don't have share buttons below my excerpts but at the bottom of the page right before the footer.

Good but bad spacing
By , for WP 3.9.1

Good but bad spacing between buttons, which makes your site have poor appearance.

Too slow to load
By ,

Loads after all my content is loaded. And some sign in option at the end.

It's painful to use
By ,

I used it, but I feel painful as it's hard to get answer when I have difficulty to use it. So communication is not good, since it's really confuse that they send email to you through support email address, however, they don't allow you to use this support email to ask question, even you post topic in their forum, you are still hard to get feedback.

Buggy plugin, slows page speed
By , for WP 3.7.1

The features provided by addthis are great, but this plugin is buggy (settings don't save) and loads slowly.

Unintuitive, undocumented
By , for WP 3.5.2

I give it 2 stars because my client likes it.

My thoughts on this plugin can be summed up by the comments that I just added to my CSS file after 3 hours of research and pain:

/* AddThis */
/* The list of services included in the ADDTHIS SIDEBAR WIDGET currently can not be customized in any way except by editing the plugin directly. The above/below page share bars have a "Custom button" option, the sidebar widget does not. In plugin settings, Advanced > Display Options > "Custom service list" does absolutely nothing (yes, really).
 * File to be edited: wp-content/plugins/addthis/addthis_social_widget.php
 * Line to be edited: (of writing, line 85) 'large_toolbox' => array( 'src' =>
 * Change the list of <a> tags as needed from their available services page (look on google)
*/

/* AddThis adds a scrollbar to every page with a 1px x 1px iframe in bottom left. It is already position: absolute; */
div#_atssh { top: 0px; }
