I'm having permission issues on my server so I ftp'd 3 image files to the WordPress /uploads folder. ftp worked fine but WordPress wouldn't display them in the Media library. Add From Server let me navigate to the correct folder on the server and then select (checkmark) the 3 individual image files to import. I was afraid that it would work only at the directory level and I'd end up a bunch of duplicates, but it added only the 3 files I wanted.
I love simple tools that do exactly they say they are going to do, nothing more and nothing less. Add From Server is my new favorite tool.
Excellent tool for importing files that should have been part of WP core already!
Well integrated with the Media Library and Per-post Insert File dialogs. Exactly what the doctor ordered :)
It saves much time.
Does exactly what it says it can do.
Thank you plugin authors/experts!!!!
This plugin hasn't been updated in a long time, so I was nervous about using it in WP4.0 (especially since others are saying that it doesn't work in 4.0). But it's the only tool that does what it does, and that was exactly what I needed, so I gave it a try. It works like a charm!
I used this plugin to add large MP3 files into the media library to bypass the hard upload file size limits. I upload MP3s via SFTP, then import the media file into the library via Add To Server. Not once have I had an issue. Thank you for contributing this plugin to the community.
I recently used Add From Server while redesigning an old static HTML site into WordPress. There were a ton of PDF files that I needed to add to the WordPress Media Library. This plugin allowed me to simply FTP the files to my server and add them to the Media Library using the plugin's interface. Wish I would have found this sooner!
I can't thank you enough for this plugin!
