After searching for a way to upload large audio files to our church website, I found this plugin. It is exactly what I needed! Simple, and very easy to use. Perfect plugin.

Like many have said before, the plugin does what it says it does. It just made my job a lot easier!

I was dreading importing my media until I found this plugin.

This plugin allowed me to import all of my media, quickly and easily, without hassle.

Great for handling a managed migration

I used this when I wanted to migrate the /uploads/ directory without porting the whole WordPress database. The plugin was great at letting me re-expose just the uploads my client needed back into the Media Library.

Others have commented that it creates a lot of duplicate images. But I found by importing just the original copy of each image, it created just a single image in the library with all the sizes correctly accounted for.

Very useful. Saved me a ton of time. Thanks!

This works, even with hundreds of images. Nice job.

Populates Media Library after migration

If you are moving a WordPress site via the WordPress Export/Import tool and transferring upload folders & file via ftp, you will find that your media library will be empty. This tool allows you to easily populate the media library without moving any files.

My only reason for not giving 5 stars was that each file had to be manually selected, so if you have a lot of files it can take a long time, but still quicker than any other way. It would be nice if you could select all but leave out any resized images such as with suffix -100x100.png or -100x100.jpg for example.

Worked Great!

I'm having permission issues on my server so I ftp'd 3 image files to the WordPress /uploads folder. ftp worked fine but WordPress wouldn't display them in the Media library. Add From Server let me navigate to the correct folder on the server and then select (checkmark) the 3 individual image files to import. I was afraid that it would work only at the directory level and I'd end up a bunch of duplicates, but it added only the 3 files I wanted.

I love simple tools that do exactly they say they are going to do, nothing more and nothing less. Add From Server is my new favorite tool.

One of the essential tools

Excellent tool for importing files that should have been part of WP core already!

Well integrated with the Media Library and Per-post Insert File dialogs. Exactly what the doctor ordered :)

This is great!
