Launched a new wordpress site with this plugin several weeks ago. About a week into the site, google flagged my website as hacked. After scanning every file on my website, my friernd found a giant block of malicious code hidden in the JS file of this plugin which also edited my footer.php file in WordPress with links forwarding to a website in China. The JS file somehow also created a new shopping folder in my html directory with the same links forwarding to this website.
I deleted this widget!

Hey admin, You were using Acurax Social Media Widget WordPress Plugin for the last 145 Days, and hope you are enjoying it.
From the bottom of our heart, we the team @ Acurax Technologies thank you for being with us, and we appreciate your feedback, reviews and support.
Very annoying spamming of my dashboard. One star.
Sorry have to agree your MISC section does not hide the ads. Someone also corrected (or pointed it out)your code so something obviously is pointing in the direction of this being forced on users! Not cool to take over backend. what does that tell use for the overall industry! Ridiculous someone has to search for code to turn this off! Will delete and move on!
Terrible plugin. It's extremly annoying in the backend.
So commercial it's disgusting. Everytime it updates you have to visit their plugin settings, just because they try to make you pay.
Enough great alternatives, please don't pay for this crapware!
Absolutely no customization available in the free version. The makers of this plugin may want to consider that if a plugin is obviously going to be useless while free, I am not likely to buy or use it at all.
Only has about 8 icons. I guess you have to buy the pro version to get something useful.
Might have been a good plug-in, but was just too "aggro" with the bright green bar on the left and the turqoise on the plug-ins page. Feels like something is being forced upon. I mean it's a simple social media icon plug-in, not even anything special, and definitely not worth being annoyed every time I need to update my site by the bright colors.
Thanks anyway, but will use something less loud.
Deleted because I didn't feel like looking at the bright green bar on the left side of the WP dashboard every time I'm editing my site--not to mention all of the in-your-face ads on the plugin configuration page. If all developers configured their plugins this way, the WP dashboard would be a nightmare.
have to pay a high price for what you really need. plenty of free ones out there that work great.
