looks great and works quickly. but sold all very muddled. if you do not use the default settings, then everything turns into a mess
the plugin is working 100% fine on my website but i am not sure why it automatically stops working on my site. i am unable to upload new images in the plugin. it uploads but when i press save sittings it is not showing my images. i think my images are not uploading all the way.
please help. my clients are getting angry on me.
I was in love at first, but have had several issues. You can't change the email associated with your account, you can't retrieve your password if you lose it, and the support is nonexistent. As I write this review the stats on the right of this page say "0 of 2 support requests have been resolved".
Now I have to replace these galleries on 2 websites I have built for clients. If the support were there, I'm sure some of the issues I'm having would be fixed and it would be fantastic. As it stands, I can no longer use it.
Very useful and simply
I have been using Zoo Effect for 2 years now and I love the ease of use. However, there are some inherent problems that, if addressed, could make this the only media plugin I would ever need. Our business relies heavily on images, so having great galleries is key to our website. When I first started using Zoo Effect, we were using WP 3.5. We always upgrade our WP sites to the latest version. Since upgrading to 3.8, I am finding that this plugin is very slow loading. Not sure whether it can be corrected by tweaking the code or not, but the load times are making me have to consider switching to a different option.
The other problem I can see is the hosting. As stated in a previous review, I refuse to pay twice for hosting. It should not be necessary. As of yet, we have not been forced into that situation, but when that happens, I will definitely have to find an alternative.
I am sure that both of these items can be addressed and I'm hoping that is what happens. I'll be watching for information regarding this and hopefully it will have a good outcome. I would like to be able to go back to giving this plugin a 5 star rating, but there are some issues that need to be addressed first. Looking forward to seeing what happens.
At first it did work. Almost fine. Quite slow and heavy, but anyway, trying WP after years Joomla is pain in the butt anyway.
But heck, never ever I could imagine the plug that was working yesterday will silently disappear today! It simply NEVER loads galleries anymore!
The point that in admin page everything works just fine, but in the frontpage - never! It took days of my time to really get it, that the plug simply doesn't work. Period! Piece of junk, yak!
Very bad interface, service has many bugs and won't let you modify galleries after a while. Cannot control uploads.
Don't use it, there are way more better plugins around.
This plugin seemed like what I was after until I realized some of the css is on their server and all the content you upload is as well.
I value the security of my content for clients, this is too bad they've ruined a good thing.
But, keep walking and please, get focus on "filtered galleries" with animation and "esasy effects" -- (both jQuery).

First of all this works great in WordPress 3.5.1 in case there was any question.
Secondly, this is by far one of the easiest to use gallery plugins I have ever seen, but it has some 2 major drawbacks which I hope the author will fix.
1. You can't use images in your media library. Instead you have to upload directly into the plugin. This is fine for someone starting a blog but a pain in the butt for anyone wanting to convert all their images to galleries.
2. You have to use the authors web hosting. Although he/she claims it is reliable, there is simply no way to know AND this opens the author up to some significant liability issues if that hosting fails or the author goes out of business. Also because you have to use the authors hosting there are some significant limits on how many galleries you can have a space you can use unless you pay the author for his hosting. This means not only are you paying xyz web hosting for your site, but now someone else to host your images. As awesome as this plugin no one should have to pay twice for hosting.
As much as I like all the features these two flaws prevent me from giving this a better review. I do sincerely hope these 2 items are fixed because I would love to change this review to a 5 star.
