 * That’s a bummer. I feel like this is an unnecessary limitation of this plugin.
   I should think that a text input field would be just as easy to integrate as
   the drop-down variables.
    Would you consider implementing this function or provide
   direction on how this might be achieved?

 * I’m using the plugin in order for people to “register” to participate in a charity
   event.
    I need to collect the following:
    1. Shirt Size (drop-down)
    2. Walking with dog? (drop-down)
    3. Walking in honor/memory of _____________? (text box)
    4. Team Name? ___________ (text box)
    5. Phone Number? __________ (text box)
 * Currently, I can easily use this plugin for drop-downs.
    `[wp_cart_button name
   ="Web Walker" price="26.00" var1="Web Walker $26|Adult Small|Adult Medium|Adult
   Large|Adult X-Large" var2="Walking with Dog?|No|Yes"]` As you can see, though,
   I’m missing input from the customer. I need a way for customers to specify those
   three (3) items via text boxes. PayPal buttons allow for this, so I figure this
   plugin should be able to handle it, also.

 * I agree with benlit2015 in that the notification e-mails aren’t working.
 * I turned on debug and gave it a try. The log file states that the e-mails were
   sent successfully, but no e-mails were ever received.

 * I’ve successfully used the “var1” and “var2” shortcode options to create drop-
   downs. However, how can I get user-defined text via a text-box? In addition to
   a few drop-downs, I would like to have three (3) text boxes.

 * Notify e-mails are not working. I enabled debug and found the line that states(
   actual e-mail address have been removed, but syntax is the same):
 * `[04/21/2017 11:32 PM] - SUCCESS :Notify Email successfully sent to email@yahoo.
   com,email@aol.com,email@gmail.com`
 * However, those e-mails were never received.

 * Thanks [@djpaul](https://wordpress.org/support/users/djpaul/)
 * Figured out something that works for me, finally. Turns out that the file and
   function to modify was:
 *     ```
       wp-content\plugins\buddypress\bp-core\bp-core-filters.php
       -->function bp_core_activation_signup_user_notification( $user, $user_email, $key, $meta )
       ```
 * Isn’t it redundant to have two functions so similar to each other? Both the above
   function and
 *     ```
       wp-content\plugins\buddypress\bp-core\bp-core-signup.php
       -->function bp_core_signup_send_validation_email( $user_id, $user_email, $key )
       ```

 * are extraordinarily similar to each other. It’s kinda frustrating.
 * I’d consider developing a plugin, but perhaps I’ll wait for the first release
   of WP 3.0.

 * [@andrea_r](https://wordpress.org/support/users/andrea_r/) Thanks once again
   for your kind responses. Within just a few hours I had a great plugin suggestion
   from the BuddyPress forums:
    [Registered Users Only 2](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/registered-users-only-2)
 * I am frustrated that I somehow managed to miss that plugin in the very first
   place. Oh well, live and learn!

 * So, I set the options to “Registered Members Only” but I can still type a direct
   link in the address bar and for instance, view the members of the main blog.
 * After logging out, I can still go here and see everything:
    [http://members.domain.net/members](http://members.domain.net/members)
   [http://members.domain.net/forums](http://members.domain.net/forums) [http://members.domain.net/groups](http://members.domain.net/groups)
 * Any suggestions? I haven’t had much luck finding an answer on their forums.

 * [@andrea_r](https://wordpress.org/support/users/andrea_r/) Thanks so much for
   the suggestion! I will test this and let you know if it does what I want!
