 * Thanks for the reply Jeff. Unfortunately, I still know very little php, though
   I’m trying to learn.
 * Turns out I was going about this whole thing the hard way. The answer was much
   easier than I was expecting. The [Role Scoper](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/role-scoper/)
   plugin, which I was already using but hadn’t looked at close enough, makes this
   whole process much easier.
 * In the Role Scoper advanced options, under “Limited Editing Elements”, just add“
   fs-metabox” to the “Post Edit Form HTML IDs” section.
