 * Anyone ever figure this out? I’m still stumped 🙁
 * Just trying to update wordpress/plugins here. Looks like this will force me to
   change my SSH port just to do so and then switch back again.

 * Edit: Doesn’t work for me either. I tried changing the include files for both
   FTP and SSH2.

 * Never mind. I figured it out. I was trying to figure out which wp file to edit
   but i see it now in the link
 * To our lovely peeps at wordpress.org, I hope you see this post. A lot of people
   use non-standard ports for their ssh/sftp connections.

 * Hmm I’m not sure what that is but I’m sure the people at Nucaptcha would help
   you out on that. I’ve been in contact with them already, and so far they been
   very attentive/helpful.

 * Try Nu-Captcha instead, i just installed it and using it with no problems here.
   I have w3tc installed with it as well.
 * I was able to somehow login without entering a captcha at all with si-captcha
   so I sought out something new.
 * Nucaptcha uses a small video instead of a distorted image which you can customize/
   brand if you want to. The only thing is that nu-captcha requires a login.. not
   sure why except for the customization they offer.
 * The only other reservation I have.. is that its a rather new plugin and not many
   reviews on this forum.

 * I know this is a bit late but if anyone comes across this error the simple fix
   is to uninstall any other caching plugins including W3 Total Cache. Then reinstall
   w3 Total cache.
 * No need to chmod any files at all.

   or 2 hours.. but it does eventually and sooner than later go to a blank page.

 * I never did try this because I wasnt sure how to do this.
 * I still get blank white pages after working with one of my themes on my local
   install of MAMP. All attempts thereafter to even view pages or login lead to
   a blank white page.
 * Please note the following
    1) Restarting MAMP has no effect. 2) I deleted my
   local cookies. 3) I have no plugins installed whatsoever 4) I am playing with
   a thesis theme and doing it as safely as possible. 5) Using the latest version
   of wordpress 6) My browsers and operating system are the latest

 * Ok thanks much MacManX and Pengbos.
 * Just so you know the article I read on themes and the potential to harm your
   site is here:
 * [http://1cat.biz/are-free-wordpress-themes-really-free/](http://1cat.biz/are-free-wordpress-themes-really-free/)
 * [http://www.connectsimply.com/blog/are-free-wordpress-themes-really-free/](http://www.connectsimply.com/blog/are-free-wordpress-themes-really-free/)
 * Perhaps they might have been written as a scare tactic. But in any case I’m sure
   Ill be more comfortable with these and until then I’ll use the sources that have
   been mentioned in the thread/forum.
 * Thanks again all.
