In reply to: Using home.php but now can't get posts to show?Nevermind, kept doing some searching and came across this thread: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/using-homephp-with-blog-post-on-inside-page?replies=4 and it does exactly what I’m hoping off. Plus allows me to do more with the home page that I was hoping off anyways!
Thanks!

In reply to: Unable to switch off post revisionsI did have four plugin’s installed:
- All in One SEO Pack
- Contact Form 7
- NextGEN Gallery
- Secure WordPress
I even tried disabling all plugins, going back to a page and making a change and saving. Still added a post revision.

In reply to: Unable to switch off post revisionsFresh install (2.8.4) and I too am seeing post revisions even with
define('WP_POST_REVISIONS', false);
being added to the end of wp-config.phpWhen I open a page, make a change and save, at the bottom of the edit page is a box listing past page revisions. Every new change and save add’s another to the list.

In reply to: Unable to edit themes in WP 2.8Already stated in the very first post that I’ve tried this.

In reply to: Unable to edit themes in WP 2.8The folder and files have always been set to 777 and I’ve never had problems editing the them prior to the upgrade. However, I went ahead and again CHMOD them to 777 only to get the same results.
I’ve also noticed that the “Update File” button on the editor page is shown so wp knows the files are editable, just not letting me edit them.

In reply to: Add custom field to all postsWould something like this work?
INSERT INTO tstwp_postmeta SELECT 0 , ID , 'googleads' , '1' FROM tstwp_posts
My concern is the 0 after the SELECT since it’s an auto increment field.

In reply to: tag suggestions not working as userEdmond,
I’m experiencing a similar problem with the new 2.7 RC2 though nothing is suggested in the Tags box at all even for my admin account.

In reply to: Add custom field to all postsI don’t know anything about MySQL but I’m guessing a query would do what I’m looking for, I just don’t know how to create the query to do it.
What I want is to add a custom field to all 420 posts on my blog. Poking around phpMyAdmin I’ve found that custom fields are stored in the postmeta table of the wordpress database. How would I go about setting this custom field to all posts?

In reply to: Security in 2.3.3Why not just get to the point and ask your question, why are you so determined to run 2.3.3?
2.3.3 has holes period. Upgrade to 2.5.1

In reply to: Security hole still an issue?Otto42,
I see your point, but at the same time that’s also why I spend money on anti-virus and anti-spyware software as well as firewalls etc etc. Regardless if it blocks 100% or not at least it’s my security blanket.
Seeing the line above I don’t feel I have a security blanket. It’s like I’m out in the cold on my own. It’s scary to know that someone could take the most popular plug-in/theme for WP right now and add the above code to it then post it on their website as a “mirror”. Kinda scary.
To give me some kind of feel good about all this I’ve just now added a .htaccess username and password to my wp-admin folder. Don’t know how much it would help if any, but at least it’s something.
