 * I had come across that csv import plugin but had discounted it because it had
   been updated in a while. My bad, it obviously hadn’t needed to because it still
   works! I have since tried it and it does exactly what is expected. Thanks so 
   much for your time, you’ve been a great help.

 * Thanks for your input. Unfortunately even the most powerful CSV import/export
   plugin can’t cope with importing custom field data into both the user and usermeta
   tables at the same time. All the membership plugins which add extra fields seem
   to put them in the usermeta table. Thanks again for your time, guess I’m going
   to have to find another way of doing things.

 * Yes I realize it isn’t, that’s probably why it does such a good job of organizing
   data import. Trouble is I have gone through an enormous number of membership 
   plugins and none of them let you import from a csv into extra fields you can 
   create such as address fields. Don’t suppose there’s any way of adding a user
   to the WordPress users when the Approved box is ticked or something like that?
   I’m no programmer so I wouldn’t have the first clue how to do it!
