 * Yes, I have a few aspects of custom code – some of which restrict COD to one 
   product category, some of which ensure that order notifications are sent to certain
   members of our team depending on the category. I’m sure there are others, we’ve
   been using the store for years and are rather limited on resources so I just 
   knock out alterations on the fly.

 * More specifically, I need a functional gallery that can advance through the photos
   with a mechanism within the post or page, so the entire page doesn’t have to 
   reload.

 * I had this same issue. Here’s a fix from another thread:
    There must have been
   a parameter that was not completed. I called the following URLs directly.
 * update-core.php
    upgrade.php?step=upgrade_db upgrade.php
 * When I called site/wp-admin/upgrade.php I received an message that the DB had
   been completed.
 * After I was redirected to the home page, I called wp-admin and it came up…
