 * i tried that, still nothing…. hmm now i’m definitely confused…

 * yeah i switched to 2013 and it still has the same problem – no option to choose
   a parent when editing pages. is there a setting I can change somewhere?

 * I used the simplicity theme from wooThemes. might that be the problem? I didn’t
   think that the theme would have an effect on how pages work…. learn something
   new every day I guesss.
