 * Your posts are stored in the database, specifically in the `wp_posts` table.
   There are plenty of articles out there that will help you get you through of
   restoring your site, best is probably if you do that without any plugins or themes
   activated. I found one article that, running quickly through it, appears to help
   you in achieving just that: [https://pagely.com/blog/reset-wordpress-website-without-plugin/](https://pagely.com/blog/reset-wordpress-website-without-plugin/)
 * Note, I am not the author of the article, nor did I ever try doing what is being
   described there, so feel free to either use it or find another one that works
   better for your needs. Ultimately you will have to follow the one that works
   best for your needs and specific skill set.
 * I hope this helps.

 * This doesn’t seem to have anything to do with curl (7.19.7) or openssl (1.0.1e-
   fips) version as I have the issue on one of my wf installs, and not on the other
   one, and both are on shared hosting by the same host. In my case I’m dealing
   with a friend’s install that didn’t have wordfence installed before, and got
   hacked. I’m getting the curl error at plugin activation, basically cannot use
   wordfence because of this error.
 * [@wfalaa](https://wordpress.org/support/users/wfalaa/) can I email you my report
   too?
 * Thanks.

 * I don’t know if they impose limitations, but if I knew which ones, I could ask
   their support. Can you help me with that?
 * Yes, I tried that setting, like I said above, I tried following the linked doc
   to no avail.
 * Interestingly I have 2 more wp sites under the same account, yet only this one
   shows the error. I guess I should try turning off plugins, and gradually turning
   them back on…?

 * [@mountainguy2](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mountainguy2/) I’m quite
   familiar with filters and settings, but thanks for the pointer anyway. However,
   what you’re saying would really only be true if WF emails were ALWAYS going into
   my SPAM folder, but that’s not the case – it is only happening periodically,
   so I was assuming WF could also take necessary steps, if any, especially if it’s
   not only me reporting this. It’s good that your life is perfect, and that you
   cracked this one, but not everyone would do, necessarily, so I’d really be curious
   about the input from one of the authors…

 * [@mountainguy2](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mountainguy2/) I never whitelisted
   any emails before, not even sure where to do it. I thought the “mark as spam”
   or “not spam” options would actually take care of it, at some level at least.
   I have already marked Worfence emails as “not spam” several times before, yet
   they still end up in my SPAM folder time to time.

 * Indeed, that’s true, and we’re learning every day, but we’re not all learning
   the same thing… 😉

 * I was sure a security expert will jump on the word “assumption” 🙂
 * yes, it could be a learning experience, but to be completely honest with you,
   I’m not overly motivated digging through docs and trying to find vulnerabilities.
   But hey, maybe you are, at the end it’s not a big file, it would take you… what…
   5 mins…? 🙂

 * so why are you giving it 5 stars then? 🙂
 * by the way, [your plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/optional-email/) hasn’t
   been updated in more than 2 years, also your website seems to be down, anything
   happened?

 * Well, it isn’t worth going through a large database for such a small thing, so
   I’ll have no choice but to assume it’s ok.

 * I get that, but the point I was trying to make is that I would not be able to
   identify if it has vulnerabilities detected since the last 2 years since this
   plugin has been written. So is there a way I can somehow automatically check
   it against some tool? Any other recommendations you may have?

 * I do like the email updates, but what about manual scans or any other data that
   I only have access to if I specifically log in to an individual site like most
   recent successful / unsuccessful logins, blocked IPs… etc. Having several sites(
   and I can imagine some folks may have several dozens, if not more) one can easily
   understand what a tedious work it is to keep them all clean of issues and run
   regular scans on them.

 * Yes, it does make sense, thank you. Might be an idea to try and push changes
   along with the update, just to save confusion, others might panic more than I
   do 🙂 The reason I contacted you was really to get an official confirmation for
   something I had a pretty good idea of. Thank you.
