What have you installed for server? WAMP or XXAMP or any other? Try opening localhost/phpmyadmin and login there with the DB user and Password. If frontend then after changing a theme, you should be sure that whether 1. If the theme supports Custom Menu 2. Can you just be more clearer about what all features you like from it? * You can have a cool photo gallery, slideshow and all using that only.
