 * Yes i’ve tried that and various others, however you cant customise the theme 
   until you activate it, which then overrides the desktop theme.

 * p.s. if i’m not mistaken, you’re suggesting using the category functionality 
   to create a heading, then using the heading functionality to create an excerpt
   underneath.

 * The example you’ve given only shows the title of the post e.g. “A weekend away
   in the countryside…”
 * I think what we’re after is for both the title _and _ the excerpt to be displayed,
   for example:
 * Photo
    Post title Post excerpt

 * P.s. desktop is ok, it’s mobile which causes the problem.

 * Hi there, what was the actual solution? I’m having the same problem i.e. the 
   title displays below the image, but i also want an excerpt below the title, like
   this for each featured post inside the grid:

    Title Excerpt

 * Ah, simply change the homepage to display a static page only. Although this will
   mean NO other posts are displayed.

 * I’m having the same problem. I only wish to display a certain number of posts,
   nothing at all, or static text below the featured post grid, as the page is far
   too long otherwise.
