I’m aware of that structure and I am already using a role editor plugin (specifically, the **Members** plugin by MemberPress) to assign precise capabilities—including all the standard WooCommerce coupon-related ones like `edit_shop_coupons`, `publish_shop_coupons`, and `delete_shop_coupons`— to custom roles. * The issue is that **your plugin appears to rely on general WordPress capabilities like `edit_posts`**, rather than checking for the dedicated WooCommerce coupon capabilities. This creates a limitation: even if a user role has all the correct WooCommerce capabilities for managing coupons, they are still blocked from accessing or editing coupons due to the missing `edit_posts` capability—which in my case is intentionally not granted, since I don’t want those users editing WordPress posts. * From a development best-practice perspective, it would be ideal for your plugin to check for the **specific capabilities related to coupons (e.g., `edit_shop_coupons`)** instead of relying on general ones like `edit_posts`. Alternatively, your plugin could define its **own custom capabilities**, which could then be assigned by site administrators as needed. * This would make the plugin far more flexible and compatible with user-role management tools, and would better align with WordPress and WooCommerce standards for capability handling. * I hope this helps clarify the concern.
