The mirepoixvegas.com site is okay and running on 2.6 with no issues (so far). All the images are kept at smugmug because of WordPress’s ongoing image upload problems. This just makes it a lot easier for me, actually, because I’m able to keep my images in different galleries and display them as I want.

My vegaswineaux.com site, on the other hand, is still in the midst of a software malfunction. In spite of uploading new images in the images folder, checking the permissions, and completely replacing the header.php with a fresh copy, my header image and rss images still aren’t displaying.

I “upgraded” to 2.6 with both sites, but had to downgrade back to 2.5.1 with vegaswineaux because I could not log in in order to post, and because the image display went crazy. So I’m back to 2.5.1 with that one, but I can’t figure out why the images aren’t displaying.

They’re both the same theme that I customized for my needs. Revolution theme by Brian Gardner. http://www.revolutiontheme.com.

If you compare the basic Magazine theme with mine, you can see that I did a LOT of customizing and can understand why I’m so upset.

That’s what I had to do when all of the suggestions to get 2.6 to work failed. Very important not to overwrite the wp-content folder. That’s where all of your themes, plugins, blah blah blah are.

WordPress upgraded the files to the most recent 2.5.1. No more 2.6 on my primary site.

However, there are still issues left over from the 2.6 debacle. Needless to say, I will not be “upgrading” to 2.6 again until there’s some sort of fix or until 2.7 or better is released.

I replaced my entire public html with my old backup, allowed WP to upgrade, and now it’s running.

And yes, the config file had my info, which made it all the more frustrating! Thanks!

This has been up and running for three weeks, so it still has a lot of work yet to go into it. But it’s beautiful and doesn’t have a blog look to it.

Heavy graphics, allow time for loading:

Well, it didn’t work with me. I’m using IE6 at work and tried it a lunch. Nothin’. I’m having my hosting company activate the backup so that I can go back to 2.5.1. I’ll wait until 2.6 is more stable. Too many serious issues that I don’t have time to mess with. This has already taken 10 hours of my time that I can’t spare, and because of the messed up look of my site, I don’t know how many people have been turned off.

Poor testing. No other upgrade had this effect on me.

I did the same thing. Still no dice. Why is this marked Resolved?

The tutorials on the site are worse than useless. I don’t speak German either!

Can you give a little more detail on how to do the linking of the images in the custom fields? I’m a complete newbie at WP and my old coding skills are just that. Old. Thanks.
