 * No, I thought that the ads came with the free edition of WP. That was my next
   objective (after I got the site working) – to get rid of the ads, if possible.
   This is supposed to be an ad-free site.

 * When you select “Jobs,” you get the message, “You need to be signed in to manage
   your listings.”
 * I am new to WordPress, so I am sure I missed some little setup. I left the lines
   for “slugs” blank, if that matters. The jobs submitted, like I said, do, in fact,
   appear for me to approve, which I have done.
