  • Windows 8? More like Windows ME! I hope WP bounces back with a better version like Windows XP did.

As a webmaster since the late 80’s (yeah, I used to have my own BBS) I can’t agree with you more. Gutenberg needs to go now, not in a year or two. I’m a full-time freelance webmaster that has used WP for over 15 years and this is the worst I’ve seen. My clients & I work with WP today, not in the future. Heck, with as fast as things change online, WP might not even be around in 2021. Who knows!?! I wish it was still the “good ole days” when I could just code a site in notepad, but now all my clients want WP because that’s what they’ve heard of. ugh…

Get rid of Gutenberg using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/disable-gutenberg/

The NetScape reference makes me giggle. I’ve been designing “sites” since they were merely dial up bulletin board systems (BBS’s) back in the late 80’s. I remember when Yahoo was a gray page with only 4 goofy icons at the top along with their logo.

To add to your “old days” references, I’d rather have a client that wants me to work with Microsoft FrontPage than use Gutenberg. Keep in mind I’d rather hand-code a site in Notepad.

    I HIGHLY recommend Disable Gutenberg!
