 * Thanks for your reply. I am thinking in more general terms than you may be assuming.
   I am not needing a how-to answer about how to use my chosen theme, nor about 
   e-commerce at all (I don’t plan on setting up a shopping cart in relation to 
   the curated brand list I’d like to create).
 * If there is anything you can suggest relating to the basic functionality WordPress
   offers (portfolio items, custom post types etc.) that would be helpful in how
   I decide to approach my task. This is mainly a content management approach question.

 * I did empty the cache in chrome but that didn’t help any at all.
