 * So, the issue resolved itself.
 * I removed the theme from wordpress and readded it and the menu worked!

 * Thank you for responding.
 * Unfortunately, I have tried setting the location for my menu. I have tried clicking
   the box labeled “Primary menu” and have also gone to the “Manage locations” tab
   at the top of the appearance>menu screen.
 * I am thinking that it is more a bug than my inability to work with WordPress.
   I am thinking this because when I use the “customize” tool and enter in my menu,
   the menu comes up on screen perfectly. However, when I save and apply, the changes
   do not occur and it is as if I never made the change.
