In reply to: updating a plugin in the wordpress directoryi tried using gmail and outlook and neither lets me send anything to plugins@wordpress.org. Error says:
The address “plugins@wordpress.org” in the “To” field was not recognized. Please make sure that all addresses are properly formed.
i do NOT have quotes around it in the email.
btw, i’m trying to develop this plugin – that’s why i need help with this.
thanks but that didn’t do anything. here is the error message again:
[04-Aug-2021 03:24:26 UTC] PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant ultra_hidey_install – assumed ‘ultra_hidey_install’ (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in /home/g8x/public_html/welovepool.com/wp-content/plugins/ultra-hide-comments-box/ultra-hide-comment-box.php on line 30
here is more of the coding before that ‘function’ statement.
/* Ultra Hide CONSTANTS */ if (!defined('ULTRA_HIDEY_VERSION')) { define('ULTRA_HIDEY_VERSION', "1.1.4"); } if (!defined('ULTRA_HIDEY_DIR')) { define('ULTRA_HIDEY_DIR', WP_PLUGIN_DIR . '/' . "ultra-hide-comments-box/"); } /* During plugin installation store ultra hide plugin version + add option for storing categories list */ if (!function_exists(ultra_hidey_install)) { function ultra_hidey_install() { /* Store Ultra Hide Comment Box Version */ add_option("ultra_hidey_version", "ULTRA_HIDEY_VERSION"); add_option("ultra_hidey_catlist", ""); }

In reply to: [Any Mobile Theme Switcher] Googlebot isn't recognizing responsive sitehad the same problem with the ATMS plugin using WP-ENGINE hosting and told them and they applied a ‘fix’ and it works fine.. Here is what they said:
So when we first encountered this issue, we added a rule for “Googlebot” on the server, which targeted Google specifically…then we realized that method depends on how the mobile site is coded, but targeting just “Google” was much more reliable.
These rules were for a specific plugin called “WP-Touch” and this rule relied on the detection of Google’s mobile bot.
The rule I wrote targets the actual user agent…so if it’s a mobile device, it will be seen by Google as mobile, which is a more efficient way of fixing this issue and works regardless of how the site is coded.
What we do is add the rule to the server and the rule gets processed before the site loads, so this is not a temporary fix…this is definitely a complete fix for you moving forward.
so does this mean that every time i use this plugin on one of my blogs, i have to custom change my templates?????? or use sledgehammer mode which is not recommended??
