 * By the way, if you remove the *, and see the “search placeholder” text, and then
   type
    in your own search term – “oncology” – it displays the results normally.
 * So I think getting rid of that * – which was never there before – may help? I’d
   at least like to know where it’s coming from…LOL

 * Hmmm….but why are results showing up at all? Before I did the upgrade, there
   was no results showing up automatically. The search box was empty.
 * Then I did the upgrade and started getting the error:
 * > Option “Max length of highlighting” with value “” should be an integer.
 * Then I set the field value, as instructed above, and now it is displaying results,
   even though no search has been done. So not sure why having results in my home
   page is making the plugin actually perform a search in the first place. What
   is causing it to search on a wildcard by default? How can I get rid of the wildcard?
   I just want the search box to be empty and not auto-populating with an *….

 * Nobody? I’ve untinstalled, re-installed, re-indexed…and in multiple browsers,
   on multiple systems, the asterisk * is appearin in the search box and, as a result,
   when you got my page – [http://apps.healthitlink.com](http://apps.healthitlink.com)–
   all the 75,000 items that are indexed are showing up…in Safari, the page keeps
   reloading because of this.

 * I meant to say “I can’t see” where the asterisk is coming from 🙂

 * Hmmm….now I put it to 200, and it’s coming up with an asterisk in the search
   field, and displayig all 75K results. I can see where that asterisk is coming
   from.

 * Found where to change it – it was not, as I was thinking, in the options table,
   it was the actual admin user name’s email address was incorrect – so it was the
   wp-users table.
 * Thanks for the great plugin!

 * Hi George!
    Thank you for the response.
 * Just FYI – in case someone is looking for a similar solution – I was able
    to
   accomplish this using your plugin in combination with “Nifty Modal Popups Lite”.

 * Thanks for your time again!
 * I tried the default theme and it worked. It worked with only about 20% of my
   paid themes.
 * So what I ended up doing – in case anyone else runs into this problem with their
   themes – is installed the plugin “multiple themes” and created a “search results”
   page using a theme that works, in my case I chose “SKT The App” theme.
 * This way I didn’t have to change my entire site just the search results page
   and everything works!
 * Thank you 🙂

 * I fixed the “auto complete” by editing the “ajax_solr_services.php” file in the
   plugin and turning the “auto complete” function from “off” – which is what it
   was set to – to “on”.

 * Hello James,
    Yes, WPSolr support has been good, but for some reason the facets
   functions don’t want to work with my site so I’ve been searching around for an
   alternative.
 * Thank you!

 * Nope – the previous versions didn’t help 🙁
 * I know this worked at some point…can you tell me what would need to be looked

   at on the Solr server config that is directly related to clicking on a facet?
 * Could it be related to the schema file?
