 * OK just to close the loop I remembered that the event page owner has to indicate
   they’re “Interested” or “Going”.

 * After some more reading, I found this solution which seems to have helped.
 * So is it recommended to leave the Facebook app in development mode and things
   will work as expected?

 * I’ve checked that there are no age or country restrictions on my event. Though
   on Event ID import I receive the following:
 * _“We are not able to access Facebook event: <event ID>. Possible reasons: – App
   Credentials are wrong – Facebook event is not public or some restrictions are
   there like age,country etc.”_
