 * If you’re trying to move your page from WP to your own server, really your only
option is to backup the database, and then restore it to a new location. I know
there is at least one database backup plugin, but I’ve never used it. Anyone
   else?

 * It could also be that the screen resolution is too low for the DHTML elements
to display properly. I’d try upping your resolution, even just while you post,
or making sure your browser is maximised.

 * Nevermind, I just installed the “evermore” plugin. It streamlined the homepage
   a good deal anyways.

 * >< Still no luck, even when editing the entire post in notepad (thus stripping
all excess markup) and re-creating in the simple editor. I switched back to the
   rich editor and tried that.
 * So far I’ve not installed any extra plugins (to my knowledge) so I don’t think
   that’s the cause.
 * Is there any way to edit the HTML of a post without it being re-interpreted (
   and re-parsed) by the editors?

 * I HAVE been writing in word! That’s almost certainly the culprit. I’ll switch
to notepad immediately. I’d be willing to be that’s about 90% of the sluggishness
and formatting problems I’ve come across.
 * Let me go give that a shot real quick, and I’ll report back the results.

 * For whatever reason, the server has picked up again. I guess it was just a temproary
   problem. I’m considering this closed.
 * Thanks for your help, tauquil.

 * UPDATE (not solved, though):
 * I’ve tracked the error to the mySQL interface, I believe, since both cgi and
html are working at normal speeds. I haven’t a clue why this could be, it seems
like WP is having a hard time pulling the data from the mySQL. I’ve filed a trouble
ticket with the ISP, since “slow mySQL” was one of the problems in the pull-down
menu, I think it might be on their end.
