 * Thank you for the great tips! Caching helped a lot. As far as identifying the
   root cause, I’m still at square zero. If a plugin is the problem, wouldn’t the
   server memory or CPU utilization be high? I monitor memory and CPU of the server
   in real time and it’s consistently low. I might be just the last guy in the door.
   Not sure how I got deprioritized and no help from BlueHost either.

 * To update, my issue was caused by one of the WordPress plugins (Media Library
   Folders) because there was a configuration problem with folders. To find the 
   issue, I open the page in debug mode (F12) and watched the error messages in 
   the Console window. After resetting the folders using the Media Library Folders
   Reset plugin, the issue went away.
